Not many people are aware that the general overseer worldwide of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Adejare Enoch Adeboye married twice!

But wait a minute; it’s not what you are thinking? The Pastor Adeboye as a young man first got married to his wife Folu in 1967 traditionally and because he could not afford the money

to have a white wedding, he suspended it till two years after when the held white wedding in church in 1969, about two years after.

Pastor Adeboye said since he couldn’t afford a wedding ring then, he promised his wife later that she would never lack anything and he has since kept that promise. When the young Adeboye could finally afford a wedding ring, he refused to buy or wear one.

Daddy GO’s marriage to Mummy GO will be 50 years in 2017 and here are 12 of their marriage secrets below:

 1. One of the major pillar of the marriage of Pastor Adeboye to Mother-In-Isreal Folu is that Daddy 

GO as Adeboye is fondly called will not eat food or drink anywhere his wife does not approve first.

2. Mummy GO always fasts anytime her husband fasts.

3. Daddy GO eats dinner between 4.00 and 5.00pm and that’s it for the day. 

4. As old as Daddy G.O is, he goes to the kitchen to give moral support and taste the food. He also advises on which food needs more seasoning or salt.

5. The respected pastor was said to be fat until his wife complained about it and he listen to her. He was able to work on his weight by avoiding fizzy drinks and alcohol. Now, he only drinks water, fresh fruit juice and tea.

6. Daddy GO holds his wife’s birthday special such that he would never leave Nigeria around that time of the year. Even when in the country, he will never go on a journey more than a 2-hours’ drive or flight away from his wife on the month of her birthday. This is one of the promises he made to her when they got married.

7. Despite the number of years that they have been married with children and grandchildren he still gives monthly household allowance to his wife till date. This even increases year by year as inflation goes up.

8. He does not always forget to give Mummy G.O monthly self-maintenance allowance. 

9. When he is at home, the cleric kisses his wife every morning and prays for her even before coming out to see anyone else.
