STEP UP YOUR REACTION TIME!

Failure is optionally your choice. Step Up Your Reaction Time!
What’s so important about a ‘Reaction Time?’ Will when we DECIDE to respond to our pain determine our gain? Watching Heather Dorniden’s amazing reaction time is an all-time lesson for all. However, the following scenario will help you step up your reaction time.
Imagine you’re sitting for an examination and have answered a couple of questions. Amazingly, you’re having a sweet flow of thoughts and very confident you’re doing the right thing. It’s your day and you can’t wait to finish as you’re certain your scoring an ‘A’. However, as with sweet early
morning dreams, you’re suddenly forced to start over again. What? That’s so unfair.
But before you scream any further, you’re informed that this examination has “nothing to do with” how many questions you answer or pages you write. It’s all about writing something that’s “meaningful and impactful”. Now that looks vague, but you’re further assured that your peace of mind and that of those under the impact of your piece of work are all that matter. Hmm! That’s quite interesting. So, what reaction should follow this rather ‘unfair’ interruption?
I see two possible reactions. One student may get upset, and fume over the sudden change. This is most plausible. A student has been disturbed, who was writing at a particular pace, with an outline and a thought flow. There’s also the chance of missing out on a major point as the student starts afresh after this interruption.
However, here’s a different reaction. The student conscious of the rules guiding the examination as stated above, gracefully starts afresh. Why?
  • It’s an opportunity to write a better essay.
  • It’s an opportunity to make a bigger impact.
  • It’s an opportunity to create a better future.
It’s simply an opportunity and what we cannot fully comprehend the potentials of an opportunity
The scenario above is how life deals with us. Both students had similar circumstances but different reactions. We cannot easily predict the future as Change is a constant phenomenon. But we can react positively. Funny enough,
it’s not how long we live, work on a project, stay in a position or exist under certain circumstances that matters, but the impact we make with what we do.
It is therefore to our advantage if we are given the ‘opportunity’ to start over again. Now that sounds harsh, but it’s true.
As long as we live, we can always start afresh.
What matters is not what happened, but what we can make of the new situation.
  • We either sulk or start afresh.
  • We either cry or create a new world.
  • We either fume over the past or forge ahead into a glorious future.
We have a choice and
We all can always start again, even if it’s to add a smile on one weary face.

YOUR TAKE AWAY
Instead of crying, mourning and wailing over the past,
  • Choose to react differently.
  • See your situation as an opportunity.
  • Open your mind to the possibility of a brighter future.
  • Envision and Create the future you desire with what you have.
  • Just Do It. No dulling!
JUST DO IT!
STEP UP OUR REACTION TIME.
Get up!
Dust your butts and Keep Moving Forward.
